On Tuesday 27th January Adrian attended a positive meeting of Northern Culture APPG at Palace of Westminster chaired by Patrick Hurley with Gill Morris.

'It was great to hear from Jay Taylor, Claire Malcolm MBE, julia fawcett, Sally MacDonald FMA, FRSA, OBE plus gathered sector people including old colleagues and new ones.

The north has a rich tapestry of cultural activity from the urban centres to the rural parts, there are issues to be addressed, some of them particular around things like rateable values and the differences in landscapes and demographics, all discussed at the inquiry meeting. The universal is that thriving places need a thriving culture sector.

I was particularly pleased to be accompanied to Westminster by Eden Arts newest Board member, Carlisle/Cumbria's Stuart Armstrong an emerging talent in film with his recent BAFTA qualifying and Channel 4 featured short 'Meat Raffle'.

And pleased to reference at the inquiry the fresh out of the wrapper Great Border City - Carlisle's BID that will work to ensure that Carlisle enhances and develops its reputation as a northern cultural city'.
